Crib Goch

... a famous, hazardous, knife edge ridge!

Crib Goch - 932 metres

Crib Goch is a "knife-edged" arĂȘte close to Snowdon, in Welsh, its name means the "red ridge".

All routes which tackle Crib Goch are considered mountaineering routes in winter or scrambles in summer. This ridge should not be tackled by the inexperienced, or those who do not like exposure to sheer drops. However, for those with the right skills it is considered to be a fine example of challenging scrambling or mountaineering, but should not be considered to be a 'walk'. Most routes start and / or end at Pen-y-Pass, which can be reached by walking up the valley from Nantgwynant.
