... dramatic moody mountains!
The Glyders (or Glyderau in Welsh) are a mountain group getting its name from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. The group includes five of the fourteen highest Snowdonian mountains (those over 3000 feet), including Tryfan and Y-Garn. The summits are usually approachded from the Llyn Ogwen side, but it is also possible to follow the paths that start near the Pen y Gwryd near the head of the Nantgwynant Valley. The summits of Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach are rocky, with many dramatic rock formations, on a clear day there are fine views over the surounding mountains. The area is alo well known for its classic rock scrambles.
