The level route between Nantgwynant and Beddgelert makes a fine trail running route of approximately three miles, of well maintained trail paths and a short section of quiet lane. This route can be joined to the well maintained paths which border both sides of the River Glaslyn heading east to the point at which the Welsh Highland Railway crosses the river where there is also a foot bridge, making this a good running option for a shorter trail run. The trails, tracks and paths of the Beddgelert Forest are also popular options for trail runners.
The annual Marathon Eryri (formally known as the Snowdonia Marathon) is a demanding and spectacular route which encircles Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), usually taking place in October, it starts and finishes in Llanberis and passing through Nantgwynant and Beddgelert.
