Sygun Copper Mine

... in the Nantgwynant valley!

Sygun Copper Mine

Sygun Copper Mine is a Victorian copper mine which closed in 1903. Sygun Copper Mine was once a major supplier of minerals both in Wales and beyond.

The mine is open to the public (check website or other literature for details) and offers audio visual content and displays, along with access to some of the old tunnels (with colorful chambers, stalactite and stalagmite formations and still visible copper ore veins which contain traces of gold, silver and other precious metals) to help visitors understand how life was in this Victorian copper mine.
